We’re enjoying spending time in the garden lately, and it’s so pleasant to see young plants taking root and growing. This rosebush has dozens of buds that are reaching up above the fenceline.
Our tomatoes are growing quickly and already have blossoms.
Friends of ours received a gift of brussels sprouts, which were banished by him and given to us by her. I’m not a fan of steamed sprouts, either, but roasted with some olive oil they’re amazingly different–and good:
Of our six roses, this plant is among my favorites, and has several blooms opening and more on the way.
We don’t do anything to encourage the call lilies, they just pop up every spring on their own:
Finally, one of the worst pruning jobs in the history of city-maintained trees. The power company doesn’t want branches interfering with its power lines, which I can understand, but it occasionally results in punk-cut trees. And this poor thing maybe looks more like a Dr. Seuss character sketch than a tree:
