If time is nature’s way of keeping everything from happening all at once, where can I get some more if it?
Okay, I’m packed, mostly, friends tell me they have the tickets for our ballgames at Target Field, I’ve seen my friend John and had a good time catching up, so now it’s time to blitz off to a plane, a rental car, and a delicious meal of walleye pike at The Tavern on Grand. And seeing half a dozen or so groups of friends and family in four days’ time.
I’m even ready to wrap bottles of homebrew into my clothes in my luggage so I can share with folks back there. If they ask me if I have any explosives in my luggage, I’ll avoid the rejoinder: what do you count as an explosive?
Okay, unleashed agitated carbonation is only likely to cause massive stainage to my clothes and send me to a department store to further stimulate the economy.
Like I’m not doing enough already with this crazy trip, spending way too much money to go watch baseball and see old friends.
I’m off—if there’s any wind left in my sails, I’ll post next week.
The Tavern on Grand is one of our favorite spots in St. Paul! I do hope you have the time of your life…and I hope the weather cooperates. It’s iffy this time of year as you probably know. Looking forward to your post when you return.
Ha, Cheryl, I was just on your site commenting on that wonderful Summit Ave tour you took — wish I could have been there in time for that.
Yes, my friends have warned me about the weather. Sounds it like it might be sunny for Sunday’s game, at any rate. And there’s still enough Minnesotan flowing in my veins to prepare for the climactic variances. 😉
Have a great trip! I hope those bottles of homebrew survive the trip. 🙂
I’m not sure if I can think of a better way to spend money, than on a vacation spent with friends. Hope you’re having a wonderful time. 🙂
So how’d it go??? Did the beer stay put or has there been a little rise in the local Bay Area economy? : )
