Growing up in a small city of fifty to sixty thousand, I wasn’t really prepared for urban commuting. I’m guessing my folks drove for about ten, fifteen minutes to get to their jobs. My junior high was close by, so I commuted with them. My high school was so close, I could walk.
Dealing with the dysfunction of dozens of different transit districts grappling with each other like sumo wrestlers it wasn’t. (more…)

A year ago I posted on it, but struggled to say it, and didn’t nail it. I admit it. I tried here, in Better shared than in private about how sometimes I enjoyed hearing a song on the radio but I wouldn’t necessarily go play the same song on my own stereo. Why did it seem to sound better on the radio?
