A busy day coming here in the Ombudshold Saturday morning; we’ve got a beach cleanup going on Saturday morning (including cleaning up the beach by our morning boatramp-to-Hornet-museum dogwalk). Then we’re getting out of town, which means we’ll probably miss the Peanut Butter Jam Festival this weekend (yes, Skippy concocted their first batch of the lip-smackin’ stuff here on our end of the island).
We could stay, especially as the Sun Kings are playing and Ombud here is a sucker for a good Beatles tribute band (and I have heard the Sun Kings, and yes they are good) but you know how everything happens all at once, and the road and even more music beckon. We’re headed west, way west, to the wilds of west Marin (as different from populous suburban east Marin as Yorkshire is from New York) and the tranquility of a house in Inverness overlooking Tomales Bay.
Besides, our friend Chuck is playing with his band the Billy Boys in west Marin’s Pt. Reyes Station Saturday night where they play from “9pm until Somebody Dances On The Bar“. Rockabilly, urban country with a ironic twist, and a bunch of unique covers of old favorites I always like. With any luck we’ll make it back to Inverness in time to wake up Sunday morning in the rural quiet of a landscape nearer Scotland than Baghdad by the Bay.
So it’ll be good to get out of town and soak up both the tranquility and the hillbillity; besides, the hounds give it both forepaws up and all tails a-waggin.
Woof, woof!
Sounds like an awesome break-time. Have fun!
Being away from electricity is amazing.
OK, the house has electricity. But we only used it for the rare light. Other than that, it was quiet. Natural lighting. Neighbor noises, birds outside the windows, the occasional car in the distance. It was nice.
Am I allowed to write these things on a web site? *smile*
